Scientific Equipment

For my thesis, and a few years after my work was focused on exploring our relationship to technology and science. I was, and am interested in expanding the definition of artistic material by appropriating scientific principles, and the fundamental forces of special relativity as raw materials. I wanted to use physical science, and the science experiment as a kind of aesthetic experience. To facilitate this, I created devices which illustrated or made use of the first fundamental force of physics, electromagnetism. The machines and drawings are based from old patent diagrams, etchings from historical scientific treatises, and grade school science experiments.
