Artist Statement

I have always been interested in, the in between places. The transitional. The both and the neither. Stories and mythology engage this transitional area directly. I utilize various techniques to place my work in this area.

When I utilize performance, I’m interested in approaching the border of performance and installation, the junction between performance and real life. Blurring that reality to create a unique experience for the viewer, and one where it is possible that the viewer finds themselves becoming the performer.

Often I utilize objects to explore this boundary. This allows me to create objects and artifacts from another (usually fictional place). Or to create objects which explore a very real border like that between those scientific areas we can sense, and those that remain invisible (like electromagnetism).
